Alhaven Development Meeting

On October 3, 2018, Missouri Housing Development Commission approved an allocation to fund Alhaven in the amount of $9,160,000.00. Alhaven will be located at 3116 Harrison, as part of the SAVE, Inc., campus. Alhaven will consist of 50 units of affordable housing, with 12 units dedicated to transition age youth. It is anticipated that SAVE, Inc., will break ground on Alhaven in May of 2019, with construction being complete by May of 2020.
SAVE, Inc. and their development partner, Vecino Group, will hold a public meeting to provide an overview of the project and answer questions from the community on January 29, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at SAVE, Inc.’s Silverleaf building, located at 911 East 31st Street, Kansas City, Missouri.

Membership changes effective January 2019

We are changing our membership policy to make things more convenient for you!

Beginning January 2019, new HPNA memberships will be up for renewal on January 1 of each calendar year. No more remembering dates or forgetting to renew! Pay your membership dues in January and enjoy the benefits the rest of the year.
NOTE: All membership renewals paid in October, November, and December 2018 will be treated as payments for 2019 membership. We hope this change makes it easier for you to keep track of your HPNA membership. If this presents a problem for you, please contact the HPNA Treasurer at treasurer@hydeparkkc.org.
Memberships are available to anyone 18 and older who resides or has a business in Hyde Park.

HPNA Annual Meeting and Elections Nov. 13

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, our annual meeting and elections will be moved up one week to Tuesday, November 13, 2018, 7pm at Central Presbyterian (3501 Campbell).

All neighbors are invited to join in on this meeting! Neighborhood Association members will vote on candidates for open board positions as well as the 2019 HPNA budget. Members must be in good standing at least 30 days prior to the meeting to participate in the vote. The proposed budget and nomination committee’s recommended slate of candidates are included for your review below.

Proposed 2019 HPNA Budget

Sprayground set to open August 9

Construction of the sprayground at 41st and Gillham/Kenwood is almost complete! There will be a ribbon cutting event on Thursday, August 9, at 11 a.m. Further details on this event to come.

Advisory: Parking/traffic impacts for Armour Blvd related to completion of bike lane project.

Starting the week of Monday, June 11th, parking and traffic impacts will occur on Armour Boulvard to make way for work related to the completion of the parking-protected bike lanes on Armour Boulevard. Crews will begin permanent striping activities from Broadway to Main and continue to work eastward. As a result, lane reduction and on street parking impacts will occur in block by block sections.

The City asks that the public obeys the “No Parking” signs that will be placed along the corridor in advance of the work. The work will be completed by July 30th.

We have appreciated your patience and understanding as crews waited for the new street surface to cure before permanently striping the roadway. The new road configuration includes bike lanes in both directions, on street parking lanes and one travel lane in each direction for motorists. The bike lane is located between the parking lane and curb and motorists should not park in the bike lane.

We appreciate your patience with this temporary inconvenience as we improve the roadway and make it safer for you and your neighbors!
