The Hyde Park Neighborhood Association

About Us

The Hyde Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA) was originally formed in 1969 to improve the quality of life of those living, working, or attending institutions within Hyde Park. The Association has always had a special focus to preserve the historical residential character of Hyde Park. On April 30th, 1974, the Articles of Incorporation as a general not-for-profit corporation were adopted. The official Certificate of Incorporation was granted by the State of Missouri on May 9th, 1974. Since then, countless residents and business operators have volunteered their time and efforts to save our historic structures, maintain our unique neighborhood character and help upkeep and restore our parks and infrastructure.

Membership

The Hyde Park Neighborhood Association membership is open to all persons over the age of 18 years who are residents of, or who operate a business or institution in, the area from 31st to 47th streets, Troost Avenue to Gillham Road/Plaza (westernmost) in Kansas City, Missouri.

Membership dues help cover the costs of the Hyde Parker newsletter production and mailing, website, Crime Committee activities, Social Committee activities, neighborhood clean-ups and dumpsters, the Hyde Park Homes Tour, street banners and landscaping projects. Most importantly, members have voting rights to elect the Board members and help determine how the neighborhood budgets funds, responds to developments, and positions on City issues that impact our neighborhood.

Meetings

HPNA meetings occur at Pilgrim Chapel unless noted otherwise.

General Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the odd months.

Board Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month.
